Sock Moose

The sock monkey has been around for longer than I have been around but it is what you would call a classic toy, one that has been around for decades and isn’t about to go anywhere. The sock monkey market; however, has been expanding over the past few years and has grown to include other sock animals such as this adorable 14" high sock moose. This whimsical sock moose is constructed from the same material as the original sock monkey - a 97% cotton fabric blend as found in the original socks used to create sock monkeys. The sock moose does not feature the grinning red mouth that the sock monkey has but it is adorable all the same with two cream colored antlers and

hooved feet. Sock moose is machine washable on the gentle cycle and is filled with polyester fiberfill. If a moose isn’t quite what you’re looking for KazooToys.com also carries the original sock monkey, a sock bear, a sock gorilla and a sock frog so you can take your pick! While Sock monkeys can be found in many toy stores, both larger retail stores and smaller mom and pop shops, the sock moose is a little harder to find and you may have to resort to online purchasing. I found this 14" Sock Moose over at KazooToys.com but if you search a little harder on the web you should be able to find larger sock moose as well! |

I love sock animals… the market will never go away for these cute cuddly friends. I’ve heard (I wouldn’t know, as I’m not a very hand-on creative sort - sadly) from other blogs that there are also some great animal sock making books. This is a blog I read a lot, and she’s made a number of sock animals: http://lizjaredstanley.blogspot.com/2008/04/marcus-monkey.html. Maybe she lists what book she uses? Cant remember.

I just tried leaving a comment, but it didnt seem to save… so if this is repeated, sorry!! Will try to sum up what I previously wrote:
I love the sock animals! I’ve heard there are sock animal making books (for those more crafty then myself), and this blog has made quite a few: http://lizjaredstanley.blogspot.com/2008/04/marcus-monkey.html. She might list the book she uses. Cant remember. But she shows some fun examples and is very inspirational with hand-making these little guys!
