I rarely feature toys and games just for older children and I rarely choose items that are big brand name toys; however, this one is a classic and one of my favorites. Risk is a great game for family game nights when you have older children in the house, the game is recommended for children aged 10yrs+ and because of the strategy that goes in to playing the game I can’t say that it is advisable to attempt a game with anyone younger. Risk is a strategic military based game for 2-4 players and teaches children not only about the geography of the world but also about the importance of good sportsmanship as well as implementing strategy. world domination, by occupying countries with your "troops" and rolling the dice to attack and conquer other neighboring countries occupied by other players. Each player is furnished with a card at the beginning of the game with their "mission" and the first player to succeed in their mission is the winner. The only thing you should know about Risk is that it is a LONG game, plan on playing for at least two hours – yet another reason why younger players don’t do well with this game. Risk is available practically anywhere that you can find games; however, picking it up from your local Target and getting the bookshelf version will save you a buck or two, failing that you can order it from Target via Amazon! |

Oh I do hope i’m the first to comment i’ve been watching all day lol I really loved playing this game with my husband when we were in college but I haven’t played it in forever!

I read this and my grin spread wider lol. I love it. All I can think of is playing against the husband. lol, but this would be great to share with the older kids in my moms group.

Hey that’s really cool. I’m going to have to order this. Risk is so fun. Sometimes I play it online because it calculates everything for you and the game goes a lot quicker, but the board game version is fun too. You should take a look at http://letsplayrisk.com
