I have wanted a Kindle ever since they were first introduced!! I'm really into ebooks and even though I don't like reading them on my laptop, I still do. My favorite book of all time is Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. It's a classic and should be read by everyone, both male and female. I reread it at least once a year! Plus, classics like this one are easily available for the Kindle.

Definitely my favorite book is the late Kurt Vonnegut's Breakfast of Champions! Mainly due to the fact that it is illustrated :) Kilgore Trout is the most likable eccentric grump found in any work of fiction or non -it is just the most nutso book and made me die laughing in more than one place! Thanks for the entry!

My favorite book is The Kitten Caper by Carolyn Keene. I love these books because Nancy Drew stories encouraged me to go into law enforcement.

I love Haruki Murakami's Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World. I'm a sometimes fan of sci-fi and cyberpunk, and this is the best thing I've read from the genre. I wish he'd write more like this one!

I've read so many books that it's hard to choose, but I'd have to say that the book "Night Watch" written by Terry Pratchett is probably my favorite. Not only is it my favorite because the writing style simply draws you right into the story, but also because it features a time travel theme which makes it a number one favorite for me and among the seniors at the state run nursing home where I do volunteer reading.

I guess both the old and the young dream about being able to fool time and experience things that happened before or after our time. It's the idea of being able to truly see what happened or to experience what could be... the only thing that seems to draw my seniors more is when we talk about universal shifts and the possibility of other univeses with greater technology (the ability to live a different kind of life).

This kindle would come in very handy, because eBooks are often available quite cheap and sometimes even for free, and winning this would enable me to read more material to my seniors. YEA!

I have many MANY favorites but one that I've read until the pages are coming loose is Fannie Flagg's Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop Cafe. That book is so homey and genuine it makes me feel like I'm right there in Whistlestop with Idgie and Ruth, watching their friendship blossom. The movie is great, but the book is terrific!

Marley and me by John Grogan. I have dogs and I love this book. It reminds me of some of the antics my dogs have gotten into over the years. Lots of fun.

Difficult to choose one, but...

Tim O'Brien's The Things They Carried. Fantastic blend of fiction and nonfiction narrative, a wonderful book about storytelling, and an engaging novel in its own right.

I'm a Stephen King fan but my mother got me hooked on reading books by Tami Hoag and all her books are my favorites, but I use to say don't kill the messenger so the book I will have to choose is her book Kill the Messenger.
My daughter was just saying on friday her teacher has a kindle, well now my daughter thinks instead of school books they should have kindles for all the students with the school books downloaded on them, she thinks it would save money, time, and paper.

Thank you so much
