To celebrate Kidazy.com’s official second holiday season and to celebrate the incredible growth of our community since last Christmas I have decided to offer a Holiday Extravaganza contest like nothing I have ever run before! The prize? A $500 E-mailed gift certificate to Amazon.com! Don’t worry the E-mailed gift certificates are almost immediately received and Amazon offers holiday shipping that is guaranteed to get to you by Christmas! All you have to do to have a chance at winning is to leave a comment on this post between now and December 13th telling me what you would buy with your $500 Amazon gift certificate if you won! One winner will be drawn at random on December 14th!
EDIT: Because of the sheer amount of entries to this contest and the so many heartbreaking stories I have read, I have decided to add an extra something to the pot. For the duration of this contest my top advertising spaces (see the top right column) are selling for $5 per day per spot, all revenue generated from these spots will be donated to another winner (drawn at random) in hopes of bringing another family a holiday season that they deserve. This one is entirely up to you guys to generate a large enough pot to give a family a Holiday season and as long as you comment on this post you are entered in to the running as well, so why not give $5 for a chance at winning the whole pot?

Seeing as how my drier died about 2 weeks ago, we won’t have much for Christmas unless I win some good gift cards. I think I would get my son an XBox 360.
Since all of the kids’ gifts have been bought already, I’d offer my wife her choice of a new KitchenAid mixer or a Kindle.

I would like to pay this gift certificate forward if I win to my daughter. She is trying to get through school but she has gone through some challenges in the last few months. She lost her home in a fire. She had to get out so fast that she didn’t even have time to get her clothes. The Red Cross put her in an apartment but she is trying her best to hang in finish school. Thank you.

With $500 I would buy some new cookware and Wii fit!
I’ve been waiting for an opportunity like this for a while now. I would totally buy $500 worth of 80′s music. Yes, I love the 80′s and I’m proud of it. I want my ipod to show my support. Thanks!
I would buy a ton of Christmas presents with this. IPOD, DVD’s, and books. Please pcik me!
Wow! $500 would buy a lot at Amazon. I would buy some books for my family, a dvd player (since ours is broken), and a dehumidifier (also broken).
I would get my husband a GPS. He’d love to have one, but would never get one for himself.
i would buy a library of books for the children….thanks for the opportunity!
I would put the money toward a large screen TV for our 7 year old son who is losing his sight due to retinitis pigmentosa. We currently only have a 27″ TV and he has to sit VERY close to it to see it.
I would purchase toys and clothes for my two little ones, and stock up on some things for our new baby coming in March. I can’t leave my hubby out, so he’d probably get some new shoes and slippers! Thanks for this very generous giveaway when times are tight for so many families!
I would buy an Amazon Kindle. I love to read, but at night, I have a difficult time. I think the lit screen will help me continue one of my favorite hobbies.
Thank you for having this wonderful sweepstake.
Wow, this is such an amazing giveaway. You can buy just about ANYTHING through Amazon these days! I would try to hold onto it for next year’s Christmas, honestly, since I did 95% of my shopping through Amazon this year.
We would love to use this for all of our winter needs. My husband desperately needs a new drill, and I would get some home improvement supplies to help with the winterizing! Thanks for the giveaway!

Tough choices but I would go with a Apple iPod nano 16 GB Pink for my daughter, a Canon Pixma MX850 Office All-In-One Printer for my son, and for my little guy anything to do with trucks!
I have added a post to my blog about this wonderful contest:

Thank you!
Well, I am not going to tell you any heartbreaking story other than ny beloved laptop is on it’s last legs so I would indeed use it to purchase myself a new one. Whatever the outcome, thank you very much for this outstanding giveaway and Merry Christmas to you and yours!
I would either put it towards a laptop (if I don’t get one for Hanukkah), use it to buy all the DVDs on my wish list and then some, and buy gifts for my family and for the Winter Wishes program I take part in. (You can still sign up, even if you’re not from the NY area: NYCares.org)
Well, since I lost my job this year and money has been nil, I would have to try to get something from each of my children’s Xmas lists, so here goes….
My 16-yr old – Creative Mozaic MP3 player and Canon Digital Camera.
My 12-year old son — Ripstik G Castor Board
My 9-year old daughter — a Razor electric scooter
My 8-year old daughter — bless her heart. She wanted Furreal Butterscotch last year (which she didn’t get) and Smores this year, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. If not, maybe Furreal Tumbles, and an Easy Bake Oven with Decorating Pen.
The joy of Christmas is all about giving and how heartbreaking it is when a parent is having a hard time providing for their children’s Christmas lists. God bless you and Walmart and all the sponsors for this wonderful giveaway.
We could really use this right now, not necessarily to buy Christmas presents, but just to buy necessities. My daughter really needs some new clothes and shoes. We also recently moved, so we need some housewares. Here are my picks:
- Positively Organic – Earthline LS Color Tee & Corduroy Pants Outfit
- Positively Organic – Terry Hoodie and Pants Outfit
- Medallion- Pink tee by Rattle Me
- Timberland Toddler/Little Kid Field Boot
- Newpoint Organic Cotton Comforter with Organic Cotton Fiber Fill
If I splurged on anything, it would be an iPod or a PS3 for my husband.
Winning $500 GC to be able to buy anything on Amazon…wow..what a God-send
I would buy a Kindle, audio books, games, gifts and would donate a prize to a local charity for Christmas.
I think i would let my children and grandchildren pick one thing they would like to have.
