Butterfly Tea Set

The Butterfly Tea Set from Back to Basics Toys is a perfect gift for any little girl with Spring just upon us! This tea set comes in a wicker basket with a carrying handle so it imitates picnic sets that adults use and allow your child to feel grown up and a part of the fun on family picnics. The wicker basket includes a 30-piece porcelain set which includes place settings for four people as well as a teapot, a sugar bowl, a creamer jug, a tablecloth and matching napkins. The wicker basket is lined with matching material so the entire set comes together in one matching piece. The wicker basket measures 7.5" L x 9.75" W x 4.75" H and it weighs 2 lbs as a

complete set. This set is not recommended for children under 8 years old because of the realistic place settings (silverware) and being that the place settings are really made of porcelain as opposed to being made of plastic. Younger children may be able to play with this set along with their older siblings; however, it is not recommended that they be allowed to play unsupervised because of the danger of hurting themselves.

The Butterfly Tea Set is available from BacktoBasicstoys.com, one of my favorite small toy shops. The tea set is one of the many unique toys and play sets they have available for children of all ages, other toys and crafts are also available at all price ranges so if this set doesn’t appeal to you take a look around and see what other great products they carry!

Smart Snacks Counting Cookies

Counting Cookies is an educational toy from Learning Resources. Counting Cookies is a learning to count toy consists of a hard plastic cookie jar, appropriately labeled "Cookies" and ten individual cookies. Each cookie in the set has a certain number of chocolate candy pieces on top (1-10) and the appropriate number written on the bottom of the cookie. These cookies are made of soft plastic and intended to teach even the youngest child to count by identifying how many pieces of candy are on top of the cookie. Each cookie measures two inches across and the jar measures 5.1" x 10.1" x 10.2" and weighs 1.1 lbs making it light enough to carry around.

This counting toy is recommended for children aged 36 months and up and is also a great toy for learning disabled children as well as special needs children. While some parents may get hung up on the cookie factor, I’m a firm believer in all things in moderation and don’t buy in to the Cookie Monster ban or any of that jazz. Learning Resources has some really amazing toys that connect with children on a level other learning toys don’t.

The entire product line from Learning Resources is available at Amazon.com including the counting cookies, Smart Snacks Rainbow Color Cones, Smart Snacks Hide ‘n’ Peek Chocolates, Smart Snacks Mix & Match Doughnuts, Smart Snacks Gingerbread Sort & Snap, Smart Snacks ABC Lacing Sweets, Smart Snacks Animal Crack-Ups, Smart Snacks Sorting Shapes Cupcakes, Smart Snacks Piece-A-Pizza Fractions, Learning Resources Sandwich Set and many many more.

Cottage Playhouse

This Cottage Playhouse is, most certainly, beyond most of our means; however, it deserved to be featured today simply because of the magnificence of it and…well the fact that my jaw dropped when I saw it. The Cottage Playhouse is a child’s playhouse with a partial-wrap porch, a bay window (with a window box), a shingled roof…yes real shingles, and an octagonal window. This playhouse is custom built and can have a variety of options (both interior and exterior) added to it to personalize it to your child. By options I mean you can add REAL cable, running water, air conditioning, internet access…you name it and your prince or

princess can have it. This cottage playhouse is built by Alan Mowrer and each custom piece takes approximately 10 weeks to build. If the cottage playhouse isn’t quite what you had in mind for your child you can take a look at other pieces by Alan Mowrer over at Poshtots.com.

This piece is available specifically from Poshtots.com where you can find a plethora of other great and unique kids toys and furniture that will make any child’s toy desires come true.

Space Capsule Tent

by admin on October 10, 2010 in Furniture,Pretend Play

Space Capsule Tent

For the little spacemen and women out there the space capsule tent is the ideal let’s pretend toy. The space capsule tent is a gray nylon dome tent covered with space shuttle decorations and doo dads and is big enough for more than one child…how many children exactly depends on the size of the children; however, it is a multiple occupancy tent. The door to the tent is designed like a space shuttle hatch to enhance the spaceman/woman experience. The space shuttle hatch opens and closes with a zipper and velcro opening. Also sold from the guys over at Back to Basics Toys are the NASA astronaut outfit, helmet and shuttle to

complete the look for any young space cadet. The space capsule tent measures 48"l x 48"w x 44"h, weighs 3lbs and is recommended for kids age 3+.

The guys over at Back to Basics toys specialize in toys which allow kids to use their imaginations, simplistic but exciting toys that any child would imagine in their wildest dreams…much as you see in kids that play with the cardboard boxes from toys, imagination is the key and these guys have tons of it.
