Sleepy Princess and the Pea from Haba

Sleepy Princess and the Pea from Haba

The Sleepy Princess and the Pea game from Haba is not only a fun game but it’s the cutest game i’ve ever seen. This game, based on the story of the Princess and the Pea, is a slow paced game that is ideal for the younger members of the family but it is also a fun and unique game. The object of the game is to roll the dice and depending on what square you land on you have to take off or add a piece of the bed set to your own bed. The game comes with four individual bedsets so everyone has their own (4 players max). The aim of the bed building is to be the first player to get all of their pieces on their bed set without it falling over! The game comes with

1 princess piece that is moved around the board by each player on their turn, 1 pea, 4 bed sets, 1 game board, 1 dice and game instructions. This game also has an advanced version included in the instructions for slightly older children who are easily bored by the basic version of the game. The game is recommended for children ages 3yrs+.

The Sleepy Princess and the Pea is available from a few online retailers including Amazon.com; however, I have not yet seen it available in retail stores but if you are going to try and locate this one in your local retail stores I recommend trying the smaller specialty toy shops first!

Stacking Animals Game from Haba

Stacking Animals Game from Haba

Blocks and building toys are always a big hit with both little boys and girls but the problem with blocks is that there are few ways to recreate blocks and make them in to something new and different. Haba has come up with stacking animals to replace those traditional square blocks and they have really brought something new to the table. These great wooden animals consist of penguins, snakes, sheep, monkeys, alligators and more! These colorful stacking animals are not only great for building and stacking but they are also helpful in learning colors and animals and they’re perfect for little hands! These blocks actually come as part of a

stacking pyramid game; however they are also great when used as just building toys! The stacking game is recommended for 2-4 players and from ages 4yrs and up because of the size of some of the smaller pieces. This fun game designed by Klaus Miltenberger contains 29 wooden animals, on dice and a set of instructions on how to play the game!

The stacking animals game from Haba is available from OOmpa.com for just under $18. I haven’t been able to find this one anywhere else as of yet; although I have located a few knock offs at various online retailers.

Namits

How many times have you been stuck in line at the post office or waiting for a doctors appointment and too afraid to let your little one touch the toys in the waiting room? How many times have you been on a car trip and just been sick of playing "I Spy" or hearing that CD play over and over again? One mother of seven certainly was which is why she invented "Namits". Namits is a set of 20 laminated cards attached to a ring with lots of different word games on them…165 word games to be exact! That should keep them busy for a while! Namits allows children to learn in that "boring" waiting time that comes along with life as well as to have fun and

interact with each other. Namits are easy to carry around and they’re laminated meaning they don’t get filthy! Namits are recommended for children ages 4yrs+ and the Namits Challenge set is recommended for children ages 6yrs+

The Namits cards are available from Magic Cabin’s online store for only $7.98 per set which is an absolute steal if you ask me! So pick up a set or two for your next road trip!

Great States

Games are an integral part of growing up and bringing together families for family time and when you can bring together families for gametime as well as learning time it makes the product all the better. The Great States Game is the perfect game to do all of the above as well as help parents brush up on their own state knowledge as well. The game is a board game recommended for children ages 7-10, so it’s one for the older children but younger children have the potential for picking up facts as older siblings play. Great states tests knowledge of state capitals, locations and landmarks as well as history and geography! Although the game is

recommended for older children, reviews of this game show that children as young as 3-4 are able to pick up facts and knowledge as they grow making this an ideal board game to keep around over the years to reinforce a strong basis of history and geography.

The Great States game is carried selectively through stores but you may be able to locate this one through your local toy megastore, failing that you can always pick this one up from Amazon.com !
