As a child who always had trouble learning and rememebering math and as an adult who still has trouble remembering and using math I cannot reinforce the importance of sharing numbers and math with your children from an early age and maintaining that experience as your children age. Making math fun is a really easy way to help your children remember math and have a much better experience in school. Dino Math Tracks Place Value Game is an amazing award winning game with a prehistoric twist that reinforces counting, addition, subtraction and place value skills! Players move around a set of four tracks with tiny dinos of their own and with each spin of

the four included dice each player is given a four digit number which they must correctly place on the four tracks using their dino pals! All the players race to get to the end of the game first by being able to accurately place their 1′s, 10′s, 100′s and 1,000′s dinos on the right place on the board! This game is recommended for children ages 6yrs+ and can be played by up to four players at once!
You can find the Dino Math Tracks Place Value Game over at Amazon.com. I have not been able to find this game locally as of yet.

Qwirkle not only has a fun sounding name but it’s also fun to play! This game has been described as Scrabble meets Dominoes and a fun family game. This wooden block game combines both logic and strategy as every player tries to match a tile on the board either by shape or by color. This family fun matching game encourages kids to recognize both colors and shapes and be able to match them to each other during play. The player with the most matches at the end of the game and hence the most points wins! This game comes with 108 wooden blocks and is made for four players. This game has also won the Parent’s Choice Gold Award and the Mensa Select Award

making it a great pick for families! This game is recommended for children ages 6yrs+ but due to the small size of the pieces it is not recommended for children 3yrs or younger.
You can find Qwirkle over at Amazon.com. I have not seen this game at any local retail stores but it never hurts to scout out your local stores!

Scrambled States is a fast paced game that is sure to get hearts racing and minds needing to know more about the geography of the United States! One of the best ways to teach children about geography is to do it in a hands on way and a fast paced competitive game is often a great way to push children to want to know more! This game focusses on observation and knowledge of geography by questioning knowledge with "scramble" cards. When a scramble card is matched with a state card the player "wins" that round and by the end of the game whoever has the most state cards wins! The game includes 50 state cards, 50 scramble cards, 4 U.S. maps and a

rulebook! This game is recommended for children ages 8yrs and up because of the level of knowledge required to play; however, playing as a family can incorporate younger children in to play as well.
You can find Scrambled States over at Amazon.com. I haven’t seen this one in local stores yet but you can locate it at various online retailers!

In the past I have featured the Zobmondo!! Would You Rather…? game for at home play; however, when I saw the Zobmondo!! Would You Rather…? Pocket Travel Version over at Amazon this morning I just had to feature it because it is such a wonderful game! This fun game makes travel fun for the entire family with funny and silly questions that force everyone to answer which deed they’d rather do, would you rather have bottles stuck on your fingers for a year or a bucket stuck on your foot? These goofy questions encourage levity in traveling situations which usually encourage moody and tired children who are simply restless. With Zobmondo!! Would You

Rather…? Pocket Travel Version you will find that your traveling time becomes more enjoyable and you all learn more about each other! If you have older children (16yrs+) and find this version too tame for your liking you can always pick up the "twisted, sick and wrong" version of this travel game and answer questions such as "would you rather wear a t-shirt that says i’m with stupid or who cut the cheese? on your first date". The original version of this travel game is recommended for children ages 12yrs+ but the more twisted version is definitely not for children under the age of 16!
You can find Zobmondo!! Would You Rather…? Pocket Travel Version over at Amazon.com, I have not seen these games in local retail stores as of yet!
