    Doorway Playhouse

    July 6th, 2008 by admin
    Doorway Playhouse

Playhouses are great toys for children because they encourage pretend play which we all know grows the imagination; however, not all parents can afford to purchase those huge playhouses that you see in fancy magazines (heck i’ve even featured one here before). A great solution to this dilemma (assuming that you’re looking to purchase something rather than build box forts like I did as a child) is to look at the Doorway Playhouse by Step 2. The doorway playhouse allows your child to have playhouse fun without the purchase of an entire house. This fun playhouse door has a top and bottom section to the door, a doorbell, a peephole

and four window shutter that open and close. The doorway playhouse can turn any room of the house in to a playhouse and can be used with any door! The playhouse door has a working doorbell which requires two "AAA" batteries (not included) and has shelving on the interior of the door to help with that realistic house look! The playhouse door is recommended for children aged 18mths+ and measures 40.25"H x 34.5"W x 13.5"D.

The playhouse door is a big brand toy so you should be able to find it in your local mega toy stores; however, failing that this one is available via Amazon.com !

      Animal Bags

      June 3rd, 2008 by admin
      animal bags

As the years progress children begin to amass quite a collection of toys, especially those cute "must have" stuffed animals that always seem to take up the most room in the closet. While donation to charity is an option for some of those toys we all know that getting children to relinquish their hold on many toys is impossible which is why Animal Bags were created! Animal Bags are an oversized plush bag with either one, two or three compartments with durable mesh windows on them. The Animal Bags are used for stuffed animals as a storage spot but they also become the stuffing for a great plush beanbag of sorts for your child to sit, lay and

play on! The mesh windows are zippered for easy access to the contained toys when your child wants to play with one of them. The plush bag can also be machine washed to keep it clean and dust free and it is made from 100% polyester. The animal bags are recommended for children aged 2+ mostly because of the desire for younger children to crawl inside them. The single oval animal bag is green and features one large compartment measuring 36"x19"x30" and retails for $69. The double "Otto" animal bag is blue and has one large and one smaller compartment and measures 50"x21"x33" and retails for $99. Finally the Trio animal bag is orange and features three large compartments (pictured above) and measures 49"x16"x42" and retails for $119.

The Animal Bags are available online from Sparkability.net, I have not seen these carried anywhere else yet but will be keeping my eyes out for a more widespread release!

        Baby Hammock

        May 31st, 2008 by admin
        Baby Hammock

The baby hammock from NovaNatural.com isn’t necessarily a toy; however, it is an amazing baby product that is perfect for summertime laziness! The baby hammock gives the youngest member of your family a secure way to join in family hammock time in the back yard on a summer day. The baby hammock can also be used indoors and is a wonderful piece to add to your little one’s room as a way to soothe and lull your baby to sleep. The hammock can be adjusted to be an "open" or a "closed" hammock for baby so light can be filtered out for naptime or allowed in for playtime. The hammock includes a five point harness to ensure that your baby is held
        Montgomery Ward

up securely and it certainly gives more peace of mind as opposed to the cheaper hammocks many megastores sell. The hanging kit is not included with the hammock purchase but it is available from NovaNatural.com for an additional $16.90 and includes a carabiner, hook and steel loop. The wooden rod of the hammock is 32" long and the hammock will hold up to 66lbs so your child can keep this up through toddlerhood if they wish and still be held up; however, the recommended age range for this one is only 0-18 months.

This particular hammock is available from NovaNatural.com and I have not seen it elsewhere. You can find other hammocks for your younger child, but I would advise you to be extremely careful with your hanging kits and the quality of the hammock you purchase!

Kids really can be inventive when it comes to building playhouses and forts of their own; however, sometimes it’s fun to help them along a little and that is exactly what the Wild West Play House does! This authentic looking old time western sheriff station measures 4ft x 4ft and is perfect for any cowboy or cowgirl fan to include in their let’s pretend play!
