It's Called Dyslexia by Jennifer Moore-Mallinos

School can be a troubling time for many children who do not face learning difficulties but for some children it’s more of a struggle than for others. Children with dyslexia are often confused and feel as though they are different or even "stupid" in comparison to their friends. "It’s Called Dyslexia" by Jennifer Moore-Mallinos is a Live and Learn series paperback book which teaches your child all about dyslexia from a child’s point of view. The little girl who is the focus of this story is just like any little girl but she doesn’t enjoy school anymore, now she’s learned to read and write she remembers which way the letters should go but she frequently gets them

mixed up! Once this little girl finds out that it’s her dyslexia that twists the letters around for her she also finds out that with more practice and with help from her friends and teachers she gets things right! This wonderful story is ideal for children facing dyslexia who are down on themselves and their abilities to read and write due to dyslexia. This book is recommended for children ages 4yrs+.

You can find "It’s Called Dyslexia" by Jennifer Moore-Mallinos over at Amazon.com. You can also order this one for free in store delivery at your local big name bookstore!

Duck, Duck, Goose by Tad Hills

Duck, Duck, Goose by Tad Hills

I cannot state enough how much I LOVE the Duck and Goose books by Tad Hills! These adorable books have the most amazing illustrations that are sure to perk even your pickiest reader’s attention and the stories of all of the duck and goose books (two out currently and one coming this week!) are stories that even we adults can relate to! Duck, Duck, Goose by Tad Hills is my favorite of the existing Duck and Goose books as it tells a story of Duck’s new friend Thistle and how Goose begins to feel left out due to Duck’s time being spent with his new friend! Goose tries his best to be involved with Duck’s new friend; however after a little while

Goose wanders off alone. Like any good friend Duck follows Goose to find out what is the matter and after sharing like all good friends do Duck realizes that his old friend is not as happy with the arrival of his new friend as he is! This book is a perfect book for children who are going through similar issues with their friends, never before have I read a book that captures children’s feelings and situations so perfectly. This book is recommended for children ages 4yrs+.

You can find Duck, Duck, Goose by Tad Hills over at Amazon.com. You can also find this one in your local bookstores or get it ordered for free in store delivery!

A Visitor for Bear by Bonny Becker

Finding new and fun books to keep children intrigued with the story as well as the characters seem to be harder to root out these days in book stores that are filled with books that tell the same old stories; however, A Visitor for Bear by Bonny Becker is one of the rare books that will leave your kids begging to hear it again and again. Bear has a home with a big sign outside which says "NO VISITORS ALLOWED" and he’s serious about it too! But one day as Bear is preparing his breakfast there comes a rapping at the door and man is Bear ever mad! When he opens the door he finds a small little mouse! Pointing to the sign Bear slams the door shut

and goes back to preparing his breakfast but what do you suppose he finds when he opens the cupboard? You’ve guessed it! The mouse! No matter what he does Bear just cannot get rid of his new houseguest and every time he tells the mouse to get out the darned mouse finds his way back inside the house again! Eventually Bear comes to really enjoy mouses’s company and decides to change his sign to only ban salesmen from his doorstep! This adorable book has sweet illustrations and is recommended for children ages 3yrs+

You can find A Visitor for Bear by Bonny Becker over at Amazon.com. You can also find this one at your local bookstore and remember, if they don’t have it in stock you can order it for delivery to the store at no extra charge!

The Great Animal Search by Ian Jackson

by admin on December 13, 2008 in Ages 4-8,Books

The Great Animal Search by Ian Jackson

The Great Animal Search by Ian Jackson is a fun book with colorful and detailed illustrations on every page which feature animals from all over the world. The reason I love this book, besides the great price, is that it’s a fun book to just look at at bedtime. It isn’t every night that a parent feels up to reading a story or two before putting their child to bed and this beautifully illustrated book allows you to spend some quality time with your child just learning and discussing about other parts of the world and the animals that are native to them. There are 48 pages to this book and each double page scene features a different part of the world from the Sahara to the Artic

you child will discover native animals to these exotic areas in brightly illustrated pictures! This book contains around 100 different animals to discover in each exotic setting and when they’re found you can talk about the fascinating animal facts about each animal! This book measures 9" x 12" and is recommended for children ages 4yrs+

You can find the The Great Animal Search by Ian Jackson over at Amazon.com. You can also find this one at some of your local bookstores or you can have them order it for free delivery to your local store!
