My First Spanish Word Book

Learning multiple languages as a child isn’t as hard as it is when you’re fully grown as i’ve mentioned before and although auditory learning and visual learning combined is one of the better ways to go about teaching multiple languages I do believe that learning through reading is also a wonderful way to teach your child how to be multi-lingual. The "My First Spanish Word Book" is a great way to get started teaching your child Spanish when they already know English words as well as when they don’t. This book teaches with diagrams and pictures pointing to the appropriate picture and giving the word for that picture in both Spanish and English. The great

thing about this book in particular is that it can be used to teach children who already know English, children who don’t know English or Spanish or even Spanish speaking children who are trying to learn English! The book is divided in to multiple sections which are labeled in both English and Spanish with headers such as "All About Me" (Todo Sobre Mi) and "At Home" (En Casa). This book is recommended for children ages 4-8yrs; however, with parental supervision it

You can find the "My First Spanish Word Book" over at Amazon, you may be able to find similar products in local bookstores, i’m not particularly sure if you’ll be able to find this book in particular but you will be able to order it for delivery to your local big name bookstore free of charge.

The Tale of Custard the Dragon by Ogden Nash

The Tale of Custard the Dragon

"Belinda lived in a little white house, With a little black kitten and a little gray mouse, And a little yellow dog and a little red wagon, And a realio, trulio little pet dragon." Custard the Dragon was one of my favorite books as a child, not only because of the great illustrations of the lovable characters but also because the words were so easy to remember sicne the rhymed. Rhyming books are a wonderful way to start children in to reading, simply because they can remember the words and follow along as you point out the words. "Custard the Dragon" is a great book written by Ogden Nash, a well known children’s author. This wonderful book tells

the story of a little girl, Belinda, who lives in a house with all of her pets, one of which is a cowardly dragon named Custard who gets picked on by all the other animals in the house for being such a big sissy. The story tells of Custard’s amazing "save the day" actions that save Belinda and her house from a burglar that Custard manages to catch in the act! Custard the dragon also features in a sequel book "Custard the dragon and the wicked knight" so if you love this one make sure to check out the sequel!

You should be able to find "Custard the Dragon" at your local bookstore but in case you can’t you can find this one over at Amazon.com! Plus don’t forget about Amazon’s 4-for-3 promotion where you can get 4 books for the price of 3!

Fancy Nancy’s Favorite Fancy Words: From Accessories to Zany

Fancy Nancy's Favorite Fancy Words: From Accessories to Zany

Fancy Nancy is a silly, enjoyable and for lack of a better word "fancy" little girl created by Jane O’Connor and the star of multiple books for children ages 4-8 years. Fancy Nancy’s books are all very affordable and a great way to form a first collection for your child, I am a firm believer that books make GREAT collections for children because they are not only wonderful items to share with others but they are educational and encourage a love for learning! Of all the Fancy Nancy books though, "Fancy Nancy’s Favorite Fancy Words: From Accessories to Zany" is my all time favorite. This book teaches children to expand their vocabulary and include fancier words instead

of those boring day to day words. I mean who doesn’t get tired of using the word beautiful? Why not use gorgeous instead! This wonderfully illustrated book gives your child a great opportunity to expand their vocabulary with easily explained "big" words to substitute for their everyday words as well as get to know Fancy Nancy!

Fancy Nancy books are sold just about everywhere you find a larger children’s book selection; however, right now you can purchase four Fancy Nancy books that are under $10 for the price of three over at Amazon.com, so while this particular one is not included lots of others are or you can mix and match one Fancy Nancy book with your other favorite children’s authors!

We’re Having A Baby: Change Is Strange by Penny Asher, Ricki Booker and Betsy Brown Braun

        April 19th, 2008 by admin
We're Having A Baby: Change Is Strange by Penny Asher (Author), Ricki Booker (Author), Betsy Brown Braun (Collaborator)

Today’s toy review was suggested by Laura as another product to help first born children adjust to the addition of a second child to the family, much like the big sister doll I featured not too long ago. We’re Having A Baby: Change Is Strange by Penny Asher, Ricki Booker and Betsy Brown Braun is a really great book to help your first born child understand the process of having a new baby brother or sister join the family. These types of transitional products are becoming pretty popular in this day and age but I have to say that this one comes highly recommended. This book tells the story of Charlie, a little boy whose mom is expecting another baby. The

book follows Charlie as he learns all about his new sibling growing in mommy’s tummy and his displeasure over the fact that he’s not going to be the only baby anymore. Over time throughout the story Charlie comes to understand that adding a new baby to the family doesn’t just mean all the unpleasantries of taking up all of mommy and daddy’s time but it also means that Charlie is going to have a brand new friend!

As with most children’s books it’s pretty hit of miss as to whether this one will be in stock at your local Barnes and Nobles or Borders; however, you can always order from your store if they don’t have it in stock and get it delivered to your store free of charge. Failing that you can order your copy from Amazon.com and cash in on their free shipping deals or their buy three get the fourth free on childrens book deals!
