Everyone Poops by Taro Gomi

Everyone Poops by Taro Gomi

Everyone Poops by Taro Gomi is a parental crutch that every parent may find themselves turning to at some point in their child’s development. While the title of this book still invokes snickers from fully grown adults it still proves to be a fan favorite for children everywhere. The aim of "Everyone Poops" is simply to explain that everyone, no matter whether they’re a human child or an elephant, has the need to poop. While the book isn’t very scientific in it’s explanation simply saying "all living things eat, so everyone poops", it answers questions for the very young children out there who find the subject of poop simply fascinating. I would not recommend this book

for educational purposes; however, I do think it’s an important book for children to read when they’re first getting in to that "potty" phase where anything and everything to do with potty time is fascinating to them. That said, if you have a child who is enraptured by poop, this is the book for you!

You can find Everyone Poops by Taro Gomi over at Amazon.com or you can find this one at almost any bookstore local to you! Keep an eye out for the other My Body Science Series books as well!

Born to Read by Judy Sierra

Finding great children’s books to recommend is always a joy; however "Born to Read" by Judy Sierra is such a wonderful book I could not wait to recommend it to the Kidazy community. "Born to Read" is a story about a a young boy named Sam and his absolute love for reading. Sam’s story tells of his infancy and his hunger for reading even then! The story then goes on to follow Sam through many great adventures that he accredits to having such a love for reading! This wonderful book rhymes words with such enthusiasm that you can’t help but get in to the story yourself rooting for Sam! This book comes to us from the collaborators of the NY Times

#1 picture book best seller "Wild About Books" and is simply a joy to read. Teaching children about the greatness of reading has never been so easy as it is with "Born to Read" by Judy Sierra.

You can find "Born to Read" by Judy Sierra over at Amazon.com! I have not had a chance to check my local bookstores for this one yet but you can always give it a try!

IlluStory Make Your Own Story Kit

You all should know by now that I absolutely LOVE toys that encourage creativity and independant thinking in children and the Illustory kit from "Creations by You" is one of the most creative toys I have come across in quite a while. The Illustory Make Your Own Story Kit encourages children to use their own creativity to write an illustrate their very own story! The kit comes with everything needed for your child to write their own story: 18 book pages, 2 cover pages, 10 washable markers, a story web planner, instructions, an order form and a prepaid envelope. Children use the enclosed materials to create their story complete with pictures and then you mail in

the story with the enclosed prepaid envelope. In a few weeks following receipt of your child’s story the company will mail back a professionally type-set book along with your childs colorful illustrations included! Children also have the opportunity to include an "about the author" section to their book and design the cover! You can even order extra copies of your child’s book to send off as gifts to family and friends! The Illustory kit won the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Seal Award, Parents’ Choice Classic Award, Family Life’s Best Learning Toy Award and Dr. Toy Best Toy-Classic Award! This kit is recommended for children ages 6yrs+ and makes a great gift!

You can find the Illustory Make Your Own Story Kit over at Amazon.com or you can look for it in your local stores; however, I have not yet found this one in any of my local stores!

        My First Spanish Word Book

        August 24th, 2008 by admin
        My First Spanish Word Book

Learning multiple languages as a child isn’t as hard as it is when you’re fully grown as i’ve mentioned before and although auditory learning and visual learning combined is one of the better ways to go about teaching multiple languages I do believe that learning through reading is also a wonderful way to teach your child how to be multi-lingual. The "My First Spanish Word Book" is a great way to get started teaching your child Spanish when they already know English words as well as when they don’t. This book teaches with diagrams and pictures pointing to the appropriate picture and giving the word for that picture in both Spanish and English. The great

thing about this book in particular is that it can be used to teach children who already know English, children who don’t know English or Spanish or even Spanish speaking children who are trying to learn English! The book is divided in to multiple sections which are labeled in both English and Spanish with headers such as "All About Me" (Todo Sobre Mi) and "At Home" (En Casa). This book is recommended for children ages 4-8yrs; however, with parental supervision it

You can find the "My First Spanish Word Book" over at Amazon, you may be able to find similar products in local bookstores, i’m not particularly sure if you’ll be able to find this book in particular but you will be able to order it for delivery to your local big name bookstore free of charge.

          The Going-To-Bed Book

          August 12th, 2008 by admin
          The Going-To-Bed Book

Bedtime is almost always the most dreaded time of the day for any child, unless, of course, you include naptime as well. Bedtime is especially frustrating for young children who don’t yet understand the importance of sleep and think that everything in the world is going on while they’re sleeping. "The Going-To-Bed-Book" by Sandra Boynton is a great way to get younger kids excited about bedtime though! This adorable board book is the story of an entire ark full of animals get ready for bed, taking their baths, finding their pajamas, doing their exercises, saying goodnight and brushing their teeth. Sandra Boynton knows exactly how to keep children

intrigued with her stories by her use of sing-song rhymes and adorable illustrations of animals from all walks of life! "The Going-To-Bed Book" is recommended for children from babies to preschoolers, it is a short book with only 14 pages and it measures 5.7" x 5.6" x .5".

You can find "The Going-To-Bed Book" over at Amazon.com for just over $5! You can also try checking your local bookstore for a copy and make sure you check out other books by Sandra Boynton!
