Today I break from the usual of bringing you unusual and new toys to bring something that’s been around for a little while but continues to amaze me. The Fisher-Price Smart Cycle is an amazing video gaming unit for younger children consisting of a "smart cycle" that hooks up to your television and uses unique software and games to teach your children more about the world around them as well as to give your child more exercise. The reason I absolutely love this toy is because it gets kids active instead of sitting them down in front of a gaming unit. different "themes". Different games for the Smart Cycle incorporate popular characters such as Sponge Bob and Dora the explorer to teach concepts such as letters, numbers, colors and shapes. The cycle comes with Learning Journey software; however, character based games are sold seperately for about $20 each. The Smart Cycle is recommended for children aged 3-6yrs and measures 9" x 16.9" x 35" and weighs 19.9lbs.

The importance of teaching expressive language skills is beyond explanation especially to families with an autistic child. The "Talk About Your Day" flashcards are developed by Carson Dellosa and feature 46 photographic flashcards in a deck.
